Ingredients
  • ¾ cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • ½ teaspoon cloves
  • Pinch of salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  2. First 4 ingredients blend together in bowl.
  3. In another bowl blend the remaining ingredients together. Now combine the two bowls and blend until smooth.
  4. Roll batter into balls a little smaller than a golf ball.
  5. Roll dough ball in sugar and put on cookie sheet.
  6. Cook for 8 minutes or until cookie has cracks on top.
  7. Cool on cookie rack.
