Ingredients
- ¾ cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup molasses
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 4 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon cloves
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven 350 degrees.
- First 4 ingredients blend together in bowl.
- In another bowl blend the remaining ingredients together. Now combine the two bowls and blend until smooth.
- Roll batter into balls a little smaller than a golf ball.
- Roll dough ball in sugar and put on cookie sheet.
- Cook for 8 minutes or until cookie has cracks on top.
- Cool on cookie rack.
